Parish Ministry Petals

Have you heard about the Petal process? Or seen this image?

You can go to our "What are the Petals?" Section and learn of this beautiful process that has been developed by Fr. Brandon to help create a community that works together and communicates with one another.

Through this process all members of our Parish Community have a voice and are able to communicate with a member from all 46 ministries that are here at St. Anne's.

"For as in one body we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them." - Romans 14:4-6

What are the Parish Petals?

In order to help St. Anne’s Parish fulfill her Mission to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ more effectively St. Anne’s Parish is about the business of Parish Renewal.  By making a continued and conscious effort to work and live together as the Body of Christ, as St. Paul states in his letter to the Corinthians… “As a body is one though many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ’ (1Cor 12:12) we will develop a deeper parish spirituality as we begin praying together across organizational lines.

The flower is an image that St. Anne’s has adopted from the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) and our Diocese.  Six petals are used to organize the 46 Parish Ministries.  The center consists of Clergy, Pastoral Council, Finance Council, and Ministry Team.

The Parish Ministry Petals is a parish reorganization process, one that allows each of our organizations to have a stronger voice in the decision making process of our parish community. Each ministry has elected a representative who sits on the Petal Committees and a representative who sits on the Pastoral Council. These representatives will ensure that the voice of our parishioners and their ideas are being communicated to the Pastor and the larger leadership team of our parish community.

  • The purpose of the Parish Ministry Petals is to plan events for our Parish Community, as well as discuss areas of concern within their particular petal and the parish.
  • The Parish Ministry Petals will enhance and encourage good communication between ministries and allow for an opportunity to more effectively minister to others the Good News of Jesus Christ.
  • Each Petal will elect a representative to sit on the Pastoral Council.
  • The Pastoral Council will consist of the Pastoral Council Chair, the Pastor, a Clergy representative and 6 Petal Council Representatives.

How does the information
flow through the Petals?

The 1st Thursday of the Month
(Exception: July & December)

Petal Meeting

46 members, each representing a ministry in our Parish, come together to hear of the up and coming events in our Parish, to share ideas, to share problems that they may have encountered in their minitries or have heard from others, etc.  The Petals send forward to the Minsitry Team (the Parish Staff) ideas or requests from their Ministry.

The 2nd Thursday of the Month

Minsitry Team Meeting

The Parish Staff comes together, discusses what is going on in their departments.  They also share, discuss and decide on the issues that were brought forward from their Petal's. Most items just need to be discussed and decided at the Minsitry Team level, but when an issue or an idea is going to affect the larger Parish community

How does an idea or issue that I have get to the Petals?

If a member in a Ministry
has an idea/issue:

If a parishioner that is not part of any ministry has an idea/issue:

Step 1: Ministry Member has an idea/issue they wish to bring to the Ministry Team.

Step 2: Ministry member shares Idea with the Head of their Ministry.

Step 3: If approved by the Ministry Head, the idea/issue will be taken to the Petal Representative.

Step 4: The Petal Representative will bring idea/issue to the next Petal Meeting to share with their Petal.

Step 5: The Petal will give the item to the Ministry Team as an issue they would like to have raised.

Step 6: The Ministry Team will then look over the issue and the Petal will receive the decision on the Issues/Action Form emailed by Petal Director.

Step 1: Parishioner has an idea/issue they wish to bring to the Ministry Team.

Step 2: Parishioner  shares idea with Petal Director.

Step 3: Petal Director will then give the idea to the Petal in which that idea belongs to.

Step 4: Petal will discuss the issue/item and see if it is something that they would like to pursue.

Step 5: The Petal will give the item to the Ministry Team as an issue they would like to have raised.

Step 6: The Ministry Team will then look over the issue and the Petal will receive the decision on the Issues/Action Form emailed by Petal Director.

 Parish Ministry Petal Prayer

We express our desire to be renewed as one as we pray together our

St. Anne’s Parish Ministry Petals Prayer

Glory to you,
O Lord our God,
Your love calls us to be your people.
By sharing our many and diverse gifts
we share in your mission.
We ask you, Lord,
to shape us into a community of faith.
Nourish us by your word and sacraments
that we may grow into the image of Jesus.
Through the power of your Holy Spirit,
heal us that we, in turn,
may heal the wounded.
Form us to be instruments of love,
justice, and peace in our land,
and send us to proclaim your saving work.
RENEW us, Lord,
that we may renew the face of the earth.
Amen.

   St. Anne, Pray For Us.
